VGN Takes Step To Strengthen Security In FCT

To compliment the efforts of the FCT Administration in protecting lives and property in the nation’s capital, the FCT Command of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN, is to launch an operation tagged “Operation Ba Wasa”.

The FCT Commander of VGN, Philip Amanyi stated this while addressing newsmen in Abuja.

He said VGN had over the years been complimenting the efforts of other formal security agencies in combating insecurity in the country.

According to Commander Amanyi, the “Operation Ba Wasa” will go a long way in safeguarding forests around all the six Area Councils of the FCT.

Commander Amanyi explained that over three hundred Officers and Men of VGN had been deployed across the six Area Councils of FCT towards checkmating the activities of kidnappers and other criminals in the Territory.

“We have been working with security agencies, the Army, DSS, Police and the NSCDC to see that we curb insecurity in and around the FCT because our primary objective is to assist and compliment their efforts in securing Nigerians and this we promise we’ll continue to do to enable the residents sleep with their two eyes closed” the Commander stated.

While advising residents of the FCT to always be security conscious, Commander Philip Amanyi commended the Minister of FCT, Mr Nyeson Wike’s efforts in the fight against insecurity in the Territory.

“As we speak, we have our officers and men stationed across the nook and cranies of the FCT including the bushes towards making the nation’s capital safe and free of crimes and criminality” he added.
