Kapital FM 92.9 The Station that Rocks!
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has cleared the air on the proposed nationwide protest by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC.
This followed concerns by residents on the security implications of the action in the Territory .
To this end, the Public Relations Officer of the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh in a statement, explains that, currently the Command is not aware of any planned protests, but affirms its commitment to safeguarding lives and property should the protests materialize.
The statement notes that the FCT Police remains vigilant in the prevention of any disruption of public order.
“We are closely monitoring the situation and will take appropriate action to ensure that any activities orchestrated by the NLC do not escalate into chaos or endanger the safety of residents in the FCT.”
“The FCT Police Command seeks to allay fears raised by some residents regarding the protests, and urges residents to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and order in the territory”.
