todayFebruary 13, 2024

Background

The Registrar/CEO of Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria, Alhaji Bashir Idris has been decorated as Patron of the Foundation For The Care, Support and Advocacy For The Aged and Retirees in Nigeria.

The choice of Alhaji Bashir Idris was in recognition of his commitment to the wellbeing of patients and aged most especially in Primary Healthcare Centres.

On the occasion in Abuja, Alhaji Idris who appreciated the Association for the honour, said the move would further encourage him to put in his best in the discharge of his duties as Registrar/CEO Community Health Practitioners Registration Board.

According to him, the best thing any medical health practitioner can do is to make their patients kings while rendering medical services and providing treatment to them which is what the Board stands for.

Alhaji Idris used the opportunity to call for more funding and upgrade of Primary Healthcare Centres nationwide towards reducing child and maternal mortality.

He also stressed the need for the recruitment of additional community health practitioners to meet the challenges of healthcare delivery at the grassroots.

Earlier, the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Mr Noah Ataboh said the decoration of Alhaji Bashir Idris as Patron of the Foundation was to tap from his wealth of knowledge and experience towards ensuring the wellbeing of older persons and retirees in the country.

Mr Ataboh who described Alhaji Bashir Idris as a highly committed and professional Registrar/CEO also extolled his leadership qualities in the health sector.

He used the opportunity to call for the establishment of Old Peoples’Home in the Federal Capital Territory to further improve the wellbeing of the elderly and reduce the challenges of isolation among them.
