Primate Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba, has called on President Bola Tinubu to take drastic action against those sabotaging efforts towards making life meaningful for ordinary citizens of the country.
Addressing Newsmen in Abuja on the state of the nation, Most Reverend Ndukuba who identified corruption, insecurity and economic meltdown as causes of the present hardship in the country called for prosecution of all corrupt public office holders and their collaborators.
He maintained that it was high time the government identified wealthy individuals and political bigwigs who are behind the current high price of food and other essential services in the country and punish them accordingly.
According to him, releasing food from the Federal Government strategic reserves and silos will not address the current food crises in the country.
On insecurity, the Archbishop decried incessant attacks in Plateau, Zamfara, Ekiti, Benue, Ondo and other parts of the country calling on insecurity agencies to rise to their responsibilities of protection of lives and property of the citizens.
The Anglican Primate however appealed to citizens not to take laws into their hands but provide necessary support for government to find lasting solution to the challenges facing the country.
He passionately appealed to government to release those arrested as a result of the recent protests against high cost of living across the country as every individual has the right to carry out peaceful protest against issues affecting the well being of citizens.
Most Reverend Ndukuba expressed the believe that in no distant time the country would experience transformation where no citizen is oppressed or marginalized.
