Wike Flags-Off Yangoji-Kwali Road Rehabilitation, Promises To Fix Kwali Stadium

In fulfillment of his promise to ensure accelerated development in rural areas, Minister of the FCT, Mr Nyesom Wike has flagged off commencement of 11km road construction in Yangoji- Sukuku- Ebo community in Kwali Area Council.

On the occasion in Abuja, Mr Wike also promised to fix the abandoned twenty thousand capacity Kwali Stadium, assuring the people of Kwali that President Tinubu has sent him to tell the people that he will not abandon them.

To this end, Wike vowed that the period of abandoning awarded rural projects in communities was over.

While noting that it was needless for any well meaning government to neglect rural development, Wike urged the people to be patient with the economic policies of Mr President, assuring them that things would soon turn around for good.

” You cannot be in the city without taking care of the rural community, then governance is useless”.

“Yes, we know that things are difficult, but things will bounce back. I cannot support what will not work.. . Things will obviously change” Wike assured.

The Minister therefore tasked all the council chairmen to be determined to make their people happy by improving their standard of living through provision of basic amenities in their domains.

Wike specifically commended the Kwali Chairman, Danladi Chiya’s strides over the enormous projects executed in Kwali, and promised to work with all the chairmen irrespective of their party affiliation.

“If you are making your people happy, you are my friend. we are going to work together with the people irrespective of party. So, continue to stay at home, don’t come to the city regularly…So that you can know the plight of your people” Wike Advised.

Aside from rural roads construction, the FCT Minister also promised to upgrade 5 schools to standard across the six area councils, even has he swore never to tamper with the monthly allocation of the Area councils.

Earlier In a good will message, the Sarkin Pai, Alhaji Abubakar Pai thanked Wike for his transformational strides.

He however raised concerns over inadequate schools and deteriorating state of some health care centers.

On his part, Kwali Chairman, Danladi Chiya applaued the minister for the commencement of the 11km yangoji- sukuku- Ebo road construction, and enumerated some of the projects he had completed in the council.

Some residents who spoke with Kapital FM, said they would be free from the huddles usually faced on Yangoji-Sukuku- Ebo road during the rainy season.

The event featured the conferment of a title on Mr Nyesom Wike as the Kauran- Kwali; making it the fourth title Mr Wike had received from 4 Area councils.
