The emergency Security meeting organized by the Wike -led Federal Capital Territory Administration to rub minds with the six Area Council Chairmen, Traditional rulers, Vigilante groups and security agencies, to tackle security challenges has ended in Abuja.

At a visit to kuje Area Council over the weekend, the Minister, Mr Nyesom Wike, urged relevant stakeholders to rise up to their duties, warning that protection of lives and property are paramount to President Tinubu’s Administration.

He noted that President Tinubu has made provision for all that is required to make FCT a safe space where people can sleep with their two eyes closed, hence, no excuses would be tolerated from stakeholders that failed to deliver on their mandate.

“We cannot afford to fail. Mr President has given approval for everything the security agencies need to work. In the next one week we will give vehicles and communication gadgets. He asked me to tell kuje Area Council people that he will not abandon you”.

“If the Area Councils are not safe, FCT is not safe. So we are very serious. If we cannot protect lives and property, we have no business being in government. So, it is not going to be business as usual. Informants of Kidnappers, repent now or you will die’.

“We must protect you, we will tackle the insecurity head on, we have a track record if I say something, I will do it. I am not coming to ask for vote, but want to secure your environment. We are ready to fight this battle…I have had this problem before and I tackled it, this one…I will tackle it” Wike declared.

Wike again, directed the Area council chairmen to hold monthly security meeting, do due deligence in profiling the vigilante groups and ensure that their allowances are paid promptly.

The FCT Minister who also pledged to fix some roads allegedly said to be aiding criminal activities in Kuje Area Council and other dilapidated roads across other Area Councils visited, appealed to youths and vigilante groups to provide vital information to security agencies.

“It is our duty to give you infrastructure, we are not doing you favour, you are entitled to it. Criminals operate better on bad roads, but when there’s good road it is difficult. The security require your information. Support them.God’s time is the best, and God’s time is now. Are you willing to support us?are you sure?” Wike asked Kuje residents.

Earlier, Kuje Council Chairman, Abdullahi Suleiman Sabo, described Mr Wike as an exceptional leader that is zealous to impact lives, pointing out that some communities earlier deserted as a result of insecurity in Kuje before the coming of this Administration were now stable.

He however noted that the Council was still having pockets of insecurity cases arising from illegal mining activities.

He also requested for the intervention of the FCT Minister in providing access roads to river Gomo and Kuje-Fubochi roads, among other pending projects.

Also, the Gomo of Kuje, Haruna Tanko, who requested for the establishment of Army barracks in Kuje village, pledged the support of traditional institutions in the fight against insecurity.

The FCT Minister had within the last 10 days visited Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kwali, AMAC and Abaji, championing the message of President Tinubu on the need for all stakeholders and residents to join hands with security agencies in flushing out kidnappers and criminal elements out of Abuja.

The Minister also promised the readiness of FCT Administration to immediately construct additional police divisions in difficult terrains across the six Area Councils to stem the tide of criminal activities in those Areas.
