EDO Guber : APC Adopts Direct Mode Primary Election

Ahead of the governorship election in Edo State, the national leadership of the All Progressive Congress, APC, has adopted direct mode of primary election.

The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Duro Meseko made this known while briefing newsmen after a meeting between the National Working Committee and Edo State APC stakeholders in Abuja.

Mr Duro, explained that the party’s leadership took the decision to ensure that the primary election is free, fair and credible.

According to the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC, the party also called on the Edo state stakeholders to unite by coming together to reduce the number of aspirants buying forms to contest during the primaries, stressing that concensus candidacy would help the party better.

He noted that Edo which was formally an APC state was taken away by the opposition party due to some misunderstanding among party members which should not repeat itself.

The party also ruled out zoning the ticket to any particular area among the three senatorial zones in the state.

They advised APC supporters in Edo state to come together and work for the success of the party for better development of the state.
