In an effort to boost troops’ morale, the Chief Of Army Staff, COAS, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the welfare of Army personnel and their families.
According to a statement by the Director, Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, the COAS stated this
during the Nigerian Army Finance Corps West African Social Activities, WASA in Lagos.
Emphasizing welfare as the cornerstone of his Command’s Philosophy, the COAS assured troops of continuous improvement despite budgetary constraints.
General Lagbaja promised visible enhancements in living accommodations across barracks and cantonments.
He underscored his dedication to working in harmony with stringent financial measures to revamp the nation’s economy, ensuring prudent resource management.
“I assure you that, irrespective of belt-tightening measures, the Army Headquarters will continue to invest in programs and initiatives enhancing your welfare and well-being,”
The Chief of Accounts and Budget, Major General Adetokunbo Fayemiwo, expressed gratitude for the COAS’s support in enhancing the Corps’ capacities.

He described WASA as an opportunity to celebrate Nigeria’s cultural diversity and a platform for officers and soldiers to unwind after a demanding year.
Gen Fayemiwo assured continued support, promising efficient fiscal management to aid the COAS in realizing his goals for the Nigerian Army.
The event also featured the Pulling Out Parade of retired senior officers and cultural performance.
