todayJanuary 14, 2024

Background

In response to the recent abduction of six young girls in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, the Police Force has initiated a comprehensive plan of action to address the situation and prevent any further occurrences.

According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Headquarters is actively coordinating efforts, with a commitment to rescuing the victims unharmed.

The statement explains that the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has escalated the involvement of tactical intelligence teams in the ongoing operations and specific details of the operation are being kept confidential to maintain the integrity of rescue efforts.

Emphasizing the sensitivity of the situation, the Police Force is actively engaging and contacting individuals crucial to the rescue operations and investigation.

The primary objective is not only to bring the perpetrators to justice but also to intensify efforts in rescuing victims still in captivity.

Recognizing the psychological impact on affected families, the Police are encouraging open communication with their operatives. This approach aims to provide support, information, and assistance to mitigate the psychological strain imposed by kidnappers on the relatives and loved ones of the victims.
