A House of Representatives member representing Birnin-Magaji/Kaura Federal Constituency in Zamfara State, Aminu Sani jaji has donated over eight thousand bags of rice to the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN,North West for onward distribution to the most vulnerable in the region.

Donating the rice on behalf of the lawmaker in Kaduna, the team leader, Peter Tanko Dogora said the gesture is aimed at showing love to the less privileged as they celebrate Christmas.

“We are here today to give out to the less privileged, the poorest of the poor. A palliative to cushion the hunger by way of supporting this present dispensation by reaching out to those who are really in need”.

“We are sharing about one thousand two hundred bags of 25kg rice each to vulnerable Christians in Kaduna, Jigawa, Katsina, Kebbi, Kano, Zamfara and Sokoto states”, he explained.

The team leader emphasized that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu demands well meaning Nigerians to join hands and contribute in every area so that Nigeria can be peaceful and prosperous.

“The president alone cannot provide everything for everyone as such all must deliberately render assistance to those in need around them,we must pull each other up”, he added.

Responding, the Kaduna State Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN Reverend Ma’aji Caleb who was joyful over the palliative described it as timely due to the present economic situation.

“The feelings is a joyful one which cannot be adequately described, but God sees and knows our hearts; that our people are remembered in this time of excruciating pain, economic hardship by this well meaning Nigerian is commendable and with gratitude in our hearts we receive them”,he said.

Reverend Ma’aji Caleb promised to use the association’s structure to ensure the palliative gets to the intended beneficiaries in all categories.

He aknowledged the biting effect of the economy, reiterating that the palliative would cushion the effect on the most vulnerable and put a smile on their faces in this season of Christmas.

The Kaduna State CAN Secretary called on those that will benefit to pray for the donors for God’s provision and protection.

“We want to say sincerely that this is a service that is rendered to God through his people and we are making a commitment that we will be praying for them that God will grant them good health, good vision and better understanding for a peaceful and prosperous country “, he prayed.

Reverend Caleb expressed optimistism that the present economic condition will change for the better, hence the need for all to pray and support the present government to achieve the desired objectives.

He therefore called on the citizens to live peacefully with one another as development cannot thrive in an atmosphere of chaos and anarchy.
