The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi has restated that security of lives and property of Nigerians is non- negotiable.
Dr Audi stated this at the last quarterly Commandant General’s Conference for the year 2023 in Abuja.
He said the conference was coming at a time when every parastatal and agency of government have been charged to key into President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to him, the Corps’ mandate of protection of critical national assets and infrastructure will be critically analysed at the conference and new strategies adopted.
The Commandant General affirmed that within the last quarter, the Corps, through the Minister of Interior Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo had promoted more than 20,000 personnel which indicates that the promises made at the commencement of his administration are gradually being fulfilled.

“We promised an all-formidable Female Squad for gender mainstreaming and also to provide security for school children. I am glad to inform you that two weeks ago, the Female Squad and National Safe Schools Response Coordination Centre (NSSRCC) Squad thwarted the kidnap of 10 students of the Federal University Dutsinma”.
The NSCDC helmsman disclosed that the Corps has arrested over 200 suspects and secured the conviction of no fewer than 100 of them.
He also said that more than 100 illegal refineries had been destroyed across the nation.
The CG’s conference was introduced two years ago, for performance evaluation, appraisal, to identify gaps and challenges, evolve strategies and chart a way forward on the challenges raised from the discussions.
