In a proactive effort to enhance national security, the Chief of Defence Staff, CDS,General Christopher Musa has reaffirmed the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens.
This is contained in a statement by the Director Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau in Abuja.
According to the statement the CDS gave the assurance during a crucial meeting with
leaders of the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria, led by Dr. Bashir Aliyu Umar, at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
The CDS who expressed regret over the recent Tudun-Biri incident in Kaduna affirmed that a comprehensive investigation into the incident had commenced and expressed commitment to implementing lasting solutions to prevent its recurrence.
While addressing prevailing security challenges, particularly in the North West, General Musa emphasized the need for purposeful leadership and development at all levels to counter criminality effectively.
Responding to the engagement, Dr. Bashir, who led the Supreme Council delegation, commended the CDS for his forward-thinking and people-centric leadership style.
He stressed the necessity for leaders to address socioeconomic disparities, acknowledging positive transformations in the country’s security architecture under General Musa’s guidance.
Dr. Bashir further lauded the CDS’s earnest efforts in handling the Tudun Biri incident and expressed gratitude for his empathy and concern for victims of the drone attack.
