The National Leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN wants the military to be equipped with more accurate surveillance technology and intelligence device.
This is to prevent recurrence of the unfortunate bomb blast in Kaduna by the military mistakenly.
CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh in a condolence message to the victims of the blast says these advancements will enhance their ability to differentiate between terrorists and innocent civilians, thereby minimising collateral damage.
Archbishop Okoh also appealed to all interest groups; political or religious, to refrain from capitalising on this tragic incident for personal gain.
A military operation led to the bombing of civilians who were wrongly identified as bandits in the Tudun Biri community, Igabi local government area of Kaduna State.
The drone strikes took place Sunday night while the victims observed “Maulud”, a holiday marking the birth of the Prophet Muhammad.
Though the army is yet to give figures on the casualties, reports say at least 80 innocent civilians were killed in the operation.
