FCT : FRSC Impounds 54 Vehicles

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC today arrested and impounded Fifty Four vehicles for overloading along Nyanya -A.Y.A highway in the Federal Capital Territory.

FCT Sector Commander, Mr Muta’a Chorrie stated this while speaking with newsmen at the commencement of a special operations to check overloading and other excesses of commercial drivers in the six area councils.

He maintained the operation which would continue until drivers abide by traffic rules and regulations said it was becoming embarrassing that some commercial drivers were bent on carrying two passengers at the front seats.

The FRSC Sector Commander also stressed the need for road users to make use of pedestrian bridges provided by the government to avoid incessant accidents along Lugbe -Airport and Kubwa- Zuba Highways.

Mr Chorrie said the FCT sector command has strengthened its operations for effective traffic management during and after the ember months patrol.

The FRSC FCT boss assured that the Corps would continue to work with stakeholders for the safety of lives and property on the highway.
