The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa has stressed the need to strengthen synergy among security agencies to overcome crime in the country.
General Musa who paid a courtesy visit to the Commandant General of NSCDC Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi in his office was accompanied by Departmental heads from the Defence Headquarters (DHQ).
He commended the Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi and personnel of the Corps for their good conduct, determination and professionalism during security operations.
The visit, he maintained was to show unity, appreciation and commend the NSCDC for the good job it has been doing.

General Musa encouraged the Corps not to be deterred by the hitches and hazards encountered in the course of discharging its statutory duties of protecting critical national assets and Infrastructure, but continue to exhibit good conduct.
He hinted that President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has always commended the performance and work of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and vowed that since criminals have resolved not to rescind from their acts, security forces would not relent.
The 18th CDS who is the first to pay a visit to NSCDC, pledged his continuous synergy with the Corps, assuring of his support in training among other areas of interest.
He applauded the President for approving the Defence Industry Corporation of Nigeria, DICON’s Bill to enable the Corporation partner with other countries in the production of military wares to ensure central control.
Responding, Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi explained that the Corps leverages on training, some of which was given to it by the military to make the personnel productive and pledged continuous collaboration with the military and other security agencies.
The CG commended the Armed Forces for participating in Internal Security operations, saying it has helped tremendously in degrading some criminal elements.
He applauded the decision on the production of wares, describing it as innovative and pledged the readiness of the Corps to key into the government’s policy on the supply of uniforms and accoutrements.
Dr Audi also informed the CDS of the Safe Schools Project as part of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure which he explained has been taken seriously so far by the Corps and disclosed that it had assisted in thwarting abductions at the Federal University, Dutsinma, Katsina State.
To enhance the desired success of the project, the CG also solicited the support of the military whom he said have been of tremendous assistance in foiling some kidnap attempts in some schools.
