Over Five thousand artisans have been trained on conversion of vehicles from petrol to Compressed Natural Gas, CNG by the Amalgamated Union of Motor Mechanics of Nigeria.
The scheme is in line with the Federal Government’s initiative to transit automobiles from petrol to CNG.
The National President of the Union, Comrade Oseni Suleiman while addressing Journalists in Abuja, emphasized that the body was seeking support from the Federal and State Governments, especially the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Administration to make the initiative more successful.
According to comrade Suleiman, the Union wants the government to make available, adequate working tools and a conducive environment for their members and other artisans.
Comrade Suleiman maintained that in addition to promoting the shift to CNG, the Union has also launched a campaign against counterfeit spare parts across the country.
While stressing the pivotal role of the union in the nation, Comrade Suleman pledged that the body would continue to work hard for the success of the Tinubu Administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
