Strike : Legal Practioners Harp On Dialogue

Ahead of the planned Nationwide strike called by the organised labour billed for today, some legal practitioners in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital have expressed divergent views over the action.

They bared their minds while interacting with Radio Nigeria in Lafia.

Speaking on the legal implications of the strike, Enoch Maku stressed that any attempt by the organised labour to embark on strike would amount to disobedience to the industrial court order restraining them from doing so.

Maku however emphasized the need for the federal government to address the demands of labour in the interest of industrial harmony.

Also speaking, a human rights activist, Abdullazeez Bako argued that the labour has the right to proceed on strike.

He also emphasized the need for a roundtable between the federal government and the organized labour in the interest of dozens of vulnerable Nigerians.

The Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress slated Today for commencement of a nationwide strike to compel the federal government to honour the mutual agreement earlier signed with labour and assaulting the LC President, Joe Ajaero.
