Kapital FM 92.9 The Station that Rocks!

To address the issue of blindness and provide essential eye care services to Nigerians, the Benjamin Kalu Foundation, in collaboration with Vision Saver Eye Care Limited, has launched a National Action Against Blindness Project.
The project commenced with a three-day medical outreach in Bende Federal Constituency of Abia State from October 13th to October 15th, 2023.
In a statement signed by the Deputy Speaker’s special assistant on Press Affairs, Udora Orizu, the event witnessed an overwhelming response from the community, with 1200 Constituents requiring medical attention ranging from medications, medical eyeglasses, and cataract surgeries during the outreach.
According to the statement, a team of highly skilled opticians, doctors, and medical professionals worked tirelessly to ensure that each patient received the necessary treatment and care.

Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu who emphasizes that the project’s scope extends beyond the Bende Federal Constituency and aims to benefit the entire nation expresses his pride in the Vision Saver team, commending their cost analysis, response time, professionalism, and the significant impact they achieved.

He thanked his team and Chief Daniel Akwari for their dedication and announced his commitment to returning to the community to address the issue of blindness further.
Deputy Speaker Kalu also highlighted his plans to make various health issues a priority, including dental care, malaria, and other health concerns.
He pledged his continued support and revealed intentions to extend the project to other regions, starting with Kaduna State.
Beneficiaries of the three-day program expressed their gratitude to Deputy Speaker Benjamin Okezie Kalu for his kindness and prayed for his protection and guidance as he continued to lead the constituency and contribute to nation-building.
