Zenith Women’s Basketball: MFM Makes It Two From Two

Mountain Of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Women’s Basketball team on Wednesday, made it two wins in two games ,at the ongoing Final Four of the Zenith Women’s Basketball League in Lagos as they won Bayelsa Blue Whales 59-54.

The Savannah derby lived up to expectations  as both teams had close calls in all four quarters living fans at the edge of their seats.

The Olukoya Girls were first to be on the driver’s seat with a 12-10 first quarter win.

The second quarter saw both sides  play out and 18 all tie, before the debutants took the third round with a 12-10 scoreline.

In the final quarter, free flow shooting from MFM led them to a 19-14 victory.

Zenith Women’s Basketball: Nigeria Customs vs Air Warriors

Meanwhile, defending champions Air Warriors of Abuja got back to winning ways as they picked up a crucial 41-42 win against regional rivals Nigeria Custom.

Air Warriors came ready for a fight as they looked to topple the unbeaten run of the Border Girls, securing a 13-14 victory in the first quarter, then flying through the second quarter with a 10-6 victory.

However, Border Girls tried to fight back in the third quarter gaining a 12-6 victory, but their form could not carry them to the fourth quarter as they lost 10-12 to the reigning champions.

Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, has played host to all four games played so far, with all games closely contested.

Thursday 19th October is the scheduled date for the finale, MFM will be looking for a 100 percent record to be crowned winners as the face Nigeria Custom.

While, reigning champions Air Warriors  go up against Bayelsa Blue Whales who are seeking their first victory.
