Nigeria Custom Service Women basketball team, also known as Border Girls continued their unbeaten run at the ongoing Final Four Zenith Women’s Basketball League in Lagos on Tuesday, as they narrowly edge over debutant Bayelsa Blue Whales in a keenly contested encounter.
All eyes were at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, as the top four teams from the Savannah and Atlantic Conference converged in the Center of Excellence for the first two games.
The highly motivated Border Girls had to dig deep into their reserve as they entered into overtime after losing the 2nd and 4th quarters to claim a well deserved 35-33 victory against Bayelsa Blue Whales.

Meanwhile, Savannah table toppers, Mountain Of Fire Ministry (MFM), did prove their dominance as they outshined defending champions, Air Warriors 75-48, in a thrilling match up for the spectators.
The Olukoya Girls, shocked Air Warriors 13-6 in the first quarter, then proceeded the second quarter 22-9, third quarter 16-14 and sealed the deal in the fourth quarter with a 24-19 game.
Zenith Women’s Basketball League was set to jump off on 14th October 2023, but was postponed to 17th-19th.
However, fanatics of the game seems worried as the glory days of First Deep-waters, First Bank aka Elephant Girls and Dolphins is coming to an abrupt end.
