The Independent National National Electoral Commission, INEC says accreditation and Transmission of results on the IREV portal during the forthcoming Governorship elections in Kogi, Bayelsa, and Imo States on the 11th of November will be done electronically according to law.
INEC Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu stated this during a working visit to Lokoja, Kogi State to assess the progress of Mock accreditation, interact with INEC staff, and visit some of the centers to be used as polling units.
He said there would be adequate security arrangements to ensure a hitch-free exercise.
The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Kogi State, Mr. Gabriel Longpet said that all the nonsensitive materials they received had been batched According to Registration Areas, RAS, and polling units.
He also said that the names of those who applied as ad hoc staff had been compiled according to the categories.
Mr Longpet however requested that the Central Bank should give them cash directly to avoid problems with transportation on Election day.
He also requested the Commission to assist them in terms of the costs of transportation of materials and personnel to some hard-to-reach areas such as Kupa, Egan, and Kakanda.
