Nigerians have been tasked to join hands with the government in building a safer, prosperous, and harmonious Nation.
The Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam gave the charge in a statement in Abuja.
According to the statement as Nigeria celebrates her sixty-third independence anniversary, there’s a need for the nation to come together to reflect on its past, envision its future, and honor the visionary leadership of President Bola Tinubu.
It explains that the festivities were not merely a mark on the calendar but a profound moment to commemorate the enduring sacrifices made by those who dreamt of a united, prosperous, peaceful, and progressive Nigeria.
The statement reiterates the commitment of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Security Agenda, which aims to transform Nigeria into a safer and more secure nation.
It further states that the Ministry of Police Affairs, as the steward of this agenda, expresses its unwavering dedication to these goals as it envisions a Nigeria where the police force is not just a symbol of authority but a beacon of trust and security within communities.
Senator Gaidam notes that the evolving security architecture of the country will focus on people and partnerships, as well as forge stronger bonds between law enforcement officers and the communities they serve.
He stresses leveraging technology, equipping every police officer with state-of-the-art kits, and relying on data and intelligence to combat crime proactively.
The statement adds that accountability, efficiency, and professionalism remain the pillars of this commitment, by ensuring that no one is above the law and that responses are swift and precise.
