FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike has felicitated Muslims on the occasion of Eid el Maulud with a call on residents to extend a hand of friendship to their neighbors regardless of their background or beliefs.
The Minister made the call in his Eid-el Maulud message signed by the Director of Press FCTA, Mr Anthony Ogunleye.
In the statement, Wike who enjoined all Muslims in the territory to imbibe the teachings of the holy books, emphasized the need to also extend their hands of care to the less privileged.
The Minister who further commended residents for their unwavering commitment to peace and harmony, pledged the FCT Administration’s resolve to deliver in the area of infrastructure, and health care among others.
He however appealed to residents to diligently carry out their civic duties by paying their taxes and obeying all rules and regulations, particularly traffic rules.
According to Wike, ” In doing so, we not only honour the teachings of the Prophet but also strengthen the bonds that hold our community together”.
” Your cooperation and respect for one another’s belief and culture have been the bedrock of our peaceful coexistence. Let us continue to nurture this spirit of understanding and unity”.
“As we celebrate this day, let us remember that our strength lies in our unity, and our progress depends on our ability to live in harmony with one another. Together, we can make the FCT even better” Wike said.
