Be Good Ambassadors Of Nigeria – FG To Pilgrims

The Federal Government has called on intending pilgrims to be good ambassadors and seek divine intervention to the challenges in the country.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume made the call while addressing over Three Hundred intending pilgrims from the FCT, Bayelsa and Imo states at the Nnamdi Azikiwe international Airport Abuja.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary General Services, Dr Maurice Mberi, the Secretary to the government of the Federation commended President Bola Tinubu for the support that enabled the remaining One Thousand Easter pilgrims to participate in the spiritual exercise in Israel and Jordan.

In a remark, the FCT minister of State, Mariya Mahmoud appealed to the intending pilgrims to avoid negative behavior that could dent the image of Nigeria.

Represented by a director, Mr Sunday Atang the FCT minister of State reminded them that pilgrimage is meant to strengthen faith in God and not for business jamboree.

She assured that the FCT administration would continue to Accord priority to pilgrimage.

Earlier, the Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC Reverend Yakubu Pam said arrangements have also been concluded to ensure that the remaining One Thousand intending Christain pilgrims for the Easter pilgrimage participate in the spiritual exercise .

The.NCPC Executive Secretary however urged well meaning Individuals to sponsor Christains yearning for spiritual growth in the Holy Land.

The intending pilgrims are expected to spend nine days in Israel and Jordan.
