The Executive Secretary, of Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission, NCPC Reverend Yakubu Pam has appealed to Nigerians to provide prompt information that will assist security agencies in tackling banditry, kidnapping, and other security challenges in the country.
Reverend Pam gave the advice while on a visit to Saint Raphael Catholic Church, Fadan Kamantan Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State recently attacked by bandits which led to the death of a seminarian and others kidnapped.
Reverend Pam described the recent attacks in some parts of the country as worrisome.
According to him, for the efforts of security agencies to yield the needed results, Nigerians especially the youths must rise and report every threat to lives and property to security agencies in their areas.
“The bandits have resolved for people not to be sleeping, the kidnappers have resolved for people not to be sleeping. I believe that Nigeria must survive, and for that reason, both the government and the people must join hands together to shun all these and as soon as possible eradicate them from our country. It is not only here I heard a story that even in other parts of the country. So I am crying out as somebody who has come to witness this, anybody that comes here will not believe that a soul will come out of this place”.
“But it is a miracle today to see the Reverend Father standing with us, and we are grateful unto God. we are not taking it for granted, and for that reason, we must do everything possible to stop future occurrence of this”.

He stressed further “I also must appreciate the president, it is on his command and approval that I have to come. If he did not agree I would not come, I have to appreciate him I appreciate all Nigerians, it is time for us to support humanity regardless of religion, ethnicity tribe, or colour let us see how we can put this country in place”.
The catholic priest of Saint Raphael Church, Fadan Kamantan, Reverend Emmanuel Okolo who narrowly escaped death said the attacks would not deter him from promoting peaceful co-existence and the spread of the gospel in the area.
Reverend Father Okolo explained further “It will interest you to know that the seminarian that they killed some of his valuables and belongings were not burnt. For myself and my assistant everything was burnt we came out of the fire alive only by the grace of God”.
He stressed further “All my certificates two masters, three degrees all my books, those were my pains. My books got burnt, the car everything. Also as the paramount chief has solicited, we need the assistance of government and well-meaning Nigerians. First and foremost we need the assistance of the government to beef up security, as I am speaking to you I am very much aware that within these past few days they have called some persons from this town again that if they did not bring money to them, they will attack them. This is to tell you how porous our locality is”.
“Despite this persecution, I said nothing, nothing can separate us from the love of God and nothing can stop us from preaching the gospel”.
In a remark, the Chief of Fadan Kamantan Chiefdom, Adamu Alkali appealed to the Federal Government to increase the presence of security agents to check incessant attacks in the country.
The peace mission team led by the NCPC Executive Secretary and the Southern Kaduna Peace Joint Committee also visited the chief Imam of the Community and emphasized the need for the two major religious leaders to promote harmony and educate their followers on the importance of peace for national development.
