D’Tigers of Nigeria has dropped 18 spots in the latest FIBA World ranking and placed 37th in the World.
Nigeria’s male Basketball team could only garther a total of 344.9 points in the ranking.
There last outing seems to have hunted the team as they dropped drastically in the latest FIBA Rankings.
On Tuesday 15th August D’Tigers crashed out of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers which was held in Lagos, Nigeria.
As a result of the new ranking, the 2015 Afrobasket champions seat 5th in Africa.
South Sudan who qualified for the Olympics polled 375.5 points to be ranked number one in Africa and 31st in the World.

Completing the top five teams in Africa are; Côte D’Ivoire second (33rd) while Angola (34th) and Tunisia (36), took third and fourth in Africa respectively.
D’Tigers were placed as the top-playing basketball country on the continent and 19th in the World with 461.4 points, in the last Fiba ranking in March 7th 2023.
The current top ranked team in the world is USA reclaiming the pole position with 786.6 points.
Spain (2nd) 778.2points, Germany(3rd) 759.7 points, Australia(4th) 755.8 points and Serbia (5th) 755.6points, complete the top five basketball nations.
Because of Nigeria’s new ranking, they are placed third in the fallers list only above fellow Africans Algeria and Gabon.
