Police in Delta State have arrested over 100 suspected gay men who attended a wedding ceremony in a hotel in the State.
According to a social media post on Tuesday by the State Command, the suspects will be paraded shortly as they are currently being detained at the police headquarters in Asaba, the state capital.

The police said they received a tip-off about the wedding ceremony and raided the hotel.
“Delta State Command has arrested over a hundred gay suspects in a hotel carrying out a gay wedding ceremony. We will be going live shortly on Facebook to parade the said suspects,” the post read.
Homosexual relationships are illegal in Nigeria and punishable by law. The bill outlawing gay relationships and same-sex marriage in Nigeria was assented in 2014 by former president, Goodluck Jonathan.
