The Acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has reiterated the need for closer relationship between law enforcement agencies and communities to enhance public trust.
This is contained in a statement by the Force public relations officer, Muyiwa Adejobi in Abuja.
According to the statement, the IGP who stated this during a duty tour to Kano State said this would also give room for collaboration between both parties for effective crime prevention.
It explained that the tour was equally aimed at fortifying community policing efforts, promoting safe schools, enhancing discipline, and fostering a safer society.

The IG during the tour had meetings with the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabiru Yusuf, the Emir of Kano, His Highness Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero and other key stakeholders on ways to effectively police Kano State and Nigeria at large.
The Inspector-General of Police expressed his unwavering zeal to working tirelessly with all stakeholders to build a more secure society for all citizens in Nigeria.
The Police Boss, also disclosed his intention to work towards having a police force that is professionally competent, rule of law compliant, service driven and people friendly with a view to adding a boost to the efforts of the government for quick economic recovery and socio-political stability in the country.
