President Bola Tinubu has reassured Nigerians of his commitment to make the living standard of Nigerians better.
The President re-echoed this assurance while receiving the Class of 1999 Governors, who called on him at the State House, Abuja.
As the Governor of Lagos State at that time, his colleagues’ visit to him was nostalgic in nature, during which pleasantries were exchanged.
Wearing the face of the happiness generated by the meeting, the leader of the delegation and Governor of Edo State at that time, Mr. Lucky Igbinedion, said the President had asked Nigerians to trust his lead.
“Mr. President assured us that it is his dream to see a better Nigeria, and he wants us to also let you know that the decisions that he has taken so far might be painful, but it’s just a child birth. In order to celebrate a child, you, must go through labour, therefore Nigerians should wait patiently and believe him that he’s going to come up with palliatives that would put smiles on the faces of everyone of us in Nigeria”, he added.
He said the meeting discussed insecurity, unemployment, and constant supply of electricity to promote peace, stability, development, and wealth creation.
According to Mr. Igbinedion, the meeting realised that the changes initiated by the government would make people to gradually re-discover their proper placements, and live within their means.
He said their visit to the President was to demonstrate their loyalty and support to the Nigeria Project devoid of politics.
“And also to thank him for making one of us the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. We came to assure him that he has a full support and prayers for the bold steps he has started to take, and also let him know that this is beyond party politics. We’re now talking about the Project Nigeria”, he said.
The Class of 1999 Governors called on Nigerians to also support the President’s efforts at building a better Nigeria.
