The remains of former Chief justice of Nigeria, Retired justice Idris Legbo Kutigi, have been laid to rest at the National Military Cemetery, Abuja.
The burial was preceded by funeral prayer at the National Mosque, Abuja. In a remark, the Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger state council of traditional rulers, Alhaji Yahya Abubakar described late justice Idris Kutigi as humble, God fearing and patriotic who dedicated his life to the service of humanity. He prayed Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest and give the family and Nigerians at large, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Thousands of Muslims and non Muslims alike attended the burial.
They included a Federal Government delegation led by the Chief of state, Alhaji Abba Kyari, FCT Minister, Mallam Musa Bello, Minister of justice and attorney general of the federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN, Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu and the inspector general of police, Idris Ibrahim.
Others include Niger state governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, members of the National Assembly, diplomatic corps, legal luminaries and traditional rulers.
He left behind a family to mourn him, among whom is Idris Haruna of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria.
