Experts Call For Measures To Guard Against Pandemics, Insecurity

Experts have called for more policies and measures that will guard against insecurity and pandemics in the country.

They made the call at an international conference on Humanities, Security and Pandemics organized by the Faculty of Arts, Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

The conference brought together academics across the world to brainstorm on how Humanity security and pandemics relates and affect the human society.

One of the participants and Dean Faculty of Arts, Nasarawa State University Keffi, Professor Gideon Omachonu explained that the programme would go a long way to provide a guide that would trigger policies to enable the nation prepare ahead of unforseen issues such as insecurity and pandemics.

Omachonu said the program was organised for multidisciplinary research to ensure the academia engaged in innovations in line with present and emerging realities in the society.

According to him, the participants will also deliberate on the key concept of Humanities, Security and pandemics how they relate and affect the human society, how we are key players as it relates to how those things interact on the face of the earth and in the human society.”

Also, the First female Novelist from Northern Nigeria and Former Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Nasarawa State University Professor Zainab Alkali advised the participants to contribute positively towards national development.

Highlight of the conference was an award presentation to the Pioneer Dean of the Faculty, Professor Zainab Alkali.
