ADC Helmsman Kicks Against Defection, Decamping And Cross-Carpeting Of Politicians
The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Chief Ralph Okey Nwosu has described integrity and transparency as tools for promoting democratic principles.
Chief Nwosu gave the advice while featuring on “Politics Today” a Kapital FM Current Affairs Programme in Abuja.
The ADC National Chairman while speaking on the topic ” Politics of Defection and its implications on Governance” condemned defection of politicians from one political Party to another for selfish reasons.
He also explained that defection from party to party had negative implications on the growth of the nation’s democracy.
Chief Nwosu expressed regret that some leaders were encouraging corruption by allowing some people who don’t have integrity to join their parties positions, instead of supporting values and integrity as it is being practiced in developing countries.
The ADC National Chairman therefore added that when the values are wrong it affects the entire existence.
Chief Nwosu urged politicians at all levels to desist from defecting from one political party to another which he said does not add value to the nation’s political structure
Contributing on the programme, a caller from Maitama, Abuja, Mr Emmanuel inyang said an organized and well structured electoral process will produce credible and patriotic leaders who have the interests of the nation at heart.
