DG FRCN Tasks Staff On Diligence, Commitment To Duty

todayFebruary 6, 2026

Background

Civil Servants have been advised to be diligent in the discharge of their duties as they also make plans for retirement.

The Director General, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Dr. Mohammed Bulama made the call in Abuja, at the send off party of the retired Director of Administration of the Corporation, Hajia Hafsat Bukola Adedeji.

The Director General FRCN, Dr. Mohammed Bulama while describing the retired Director as a dedicated staff member who served the corporation with humility, called on staff to imbibe her legacy.

Dr Bulama said the Corporation would miss Mrs Adedeji for the virtues she displayed during her years of service.

According to Dr. Bulama, “One of the first things I observed when I came in, is the fact that we have so many women. And we have reinforced this, we even have more women now in position of authority. So I have no doubt in my mind that they will conduct themselves in the professional way that they have continued to do.”

“You know, they didn’t get into this position just like that overnight, they merit it. They should continue on that trajectory, to continue to remain professional, discharge themselves with honour and credibility, and remain people of character.”

Mrs. Adedeji served FRCN very, very well. Very unassuming, but she did her job extremely, very, very well. And I personally would miss her, and I’m sure that the FRCN family would miss her as well.

“But then, that’s life for you. You know, in life we have different epochs. In fact, she’s lucky that she’s living at the end of her career, and she has become a senior citizen.”

In their goodwill messages, a former Zonal Director Ibadan, National Station Alhaji Mohammed Bello and the Director Finance and Accounts, Mallam Musa Bako hailed her for demonstrating high capacity and mentoring her subordinates well.

Mohammed Bello stressed that, “One takeaway from this event is that we should work hard, work harmoniously with our superiors and subordinates. We should also try not to sow seeds of discord within the communities we find ourselves.”

For Mallam Bako, “the Legacy of competence means that in anything you do, do it well. The celebrant, Mrs. Adediji, is one colleague that I’ve worked with during her tenure. I’ve seen that she symbolizes or is an embodiment of merit.”

“Anything she wants to do, in fact, caution, you can be cautioned to a meticulous thought in order to ensure that whatever work that needs to be done is done properly.”

In her remark, the successor of the retired Director Admin, Dr. Caroline Aremu said Mrs Adedeji laid a good foundation that would guide future administrators in the Corporation.

According to Dr. Aremu, “We are grateful to be associated with her. She was able to hold the directorate of administration together with wisdom and professional competence.

The celebrant, Mrs Hafsat Adedeji who was overwhelmed with the show of love appreciated her colleagues for the outpouring of love and promised to always be available for further guidance if she is called upon.

In her words, “I don’t know what to say, except to say thank you for the outpouring of love, for your support.
I actually had a good working career with you, across all departments, I’m very grateful. Just as you all put smiles on my face today, may smiles not depart from your homes.
May you all be celebrated when the time comes.”

The event attracted retired and serving Directors of the Corporation, members of staff, family and other well wishers.
