Information Minister Suspends Aide Over Niger Guber Election Article

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has issued a strong public disapproval of a political write-up authored by one of his aides, Mr. Sa’idu Enagi.

The controversial document, titled ‘Malagi 2027,’ contains political permutations regarding the 2027 Niger State gubernatorial elections.

In a statement, the Minister stated that the write-up and its contents are vehemently disclaimed.

The statement clarified that the Minister is fully focused on his responsibility superintending the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, and has no room for political distractions.

According to the statement, to underscore the seriousness of the breach, the Minister has directed an immediate investigation into the matter and the aide, Sa’idu Enagi, has been issued a letter of suspension with immediate effect.

The statement further seeks to quell potential political tensions, emphasizing the cordial relationship between the Minister and the Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umaru Bago.

It describes their rapport as a “positive, mutual relationship for the greater good of Niger state,” adding that unsanctioned speculations about the 2027 elections are “inimical to the noble objectives” of both leaders.

The swift disclaiming and disciplinary action signals the Minister’s intent to distance his official duties from premature political campaignsv and to maintain a harmonious working relationship with the state’s leadership.
