Stella Din Jacob’s Appointment As EDN, A Testament To Commitment – FCT NUJ

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has praised the appointment of Stella Din Jacob as the first female Executive Director of News at the Nigerian Television Authority.

In a statement signed by council secretary Jide Oyekunle, the union describes Jacob, a lawyer and veteran broadcaster, as a trailblazer who has mentored generations of journalists and led newsrooms at Silverbird, Channels Television and TVC News.

The NUJ notes that its current chairperson, Grace Ike, worked under Jacob’s supervision earlier in her career, describing her as a model of mentorship and leadership in the industry.

It says her appointment reflected decades of dedication, excellence, and innovation in journalism while also commending President Bola Tinubu for demonstrating a commitment to inclusive leadership.

The union highlights her unique blend of media and legal expertise and expressed confidence that she would bring growth, credibility, and unity to national broadcasting while continuing to inspire women and young journalists.

The council wishes her success in her new role and assures her of its full support.
