The remodeling of the Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC) Filling Station to incorporate a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion center has reached an advanced stage.
This project, aimed at promoting cleaner energy alternatives, is set to provide vehicle owners in Benue State with access to CNG refueling services and conversion facilities.
When the corporate communications team led by Joyce Isiaku visited the station, significant progress was made in upgrading the facility, with structural modifications nearing completion and the maintenance of underground tanks underway.
The initiative is part of His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, the Executive Governor of Benue State, President Bola Tinubu and the Managing Director of Bipc, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha-CFA’s commitment to supporting sustainable energy solutions and reducing dependence on traditional fossil fuels.
The new CNG conversion centre when completed will enable vehicle owners to transition from petrol and diesel to CNG, an environmentally friendly and cost-effective fuel option. The project aligns with the federal government’s push for alternative fuel adoption in Nigeria, aiming to lower carbon emissions and reduce transportation costs for businesses and individuals.
Once completed, the remodeled filling station will not only serve as a refueling hub for CNG users but also offer conversion services for those looking to modify their vehicles for CNG use. The initiative is expected to boost economic activities, create job opportunities, and encourage a cleaner environment in Benue State.
