The Solicitor General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Justice, Mrs Beatrice Jedy-Agba, has reiterated the ministry’s readiness to motivate workers and reward excellence in the line of duty.

Agba made the call in Abuja, at an event tagged: 2024 Justice Sector Ministerial Award and Recognition Ceremony in commemoration of the Nigerian Public Service with 58 award recipients.

In an opening remark, Jedy-Agba said the initiative is a testament of the ministry’s collective agreement to reward excellence in line with President Tinubu’s administration’s vision to raise ethics and culture of Public Service in the country.

According to her, the government places premium value in enhancing welfare and celebrating achievements and the culture of hard work in the public sector.

” We aimed at fostering a work environment which embodies efficiency, loyalty, dedication commitment, one that is inspiring and can improve socioeconomic growth.”

Jedy-Agba, who commended all the agencies for prioritising the effective implementation of their various mandates, assured that the ministry is taking conscious steps to motivate workers further via the provisions of wardrobe allowance to state counsels, upgrading of staff clinic, conference hall among others.

On her part, the Head of Service, Mrs Didi Walson-Jack described the event as a replication of the civil service week.

Represented by Mr Bosun Fasulu, the HoS added: “This achievement acknowledges the wonderful contribution of recipients.”

A resource person, Dr Abel Enokela, said that to maintain global relevance and keep pace with the world, workers must continue to learn new skills to make a positive impact for national development.

“As workers, there is always something to learn via social media, skill acquisition, technology, vocation, formal and non-formal education for personal growth,” Enokela added.

Responding on behalf of the award recipients, Mr Felix Ota-Okojie commended the AGF, SGF and the ministry for deeming them fit, saying : ” This award will spur more hardwork and dedication to service of the fatherland”.
