The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Mrs Kemi Nandap, has pledged total commitment to human capacity building and welfare of personnel of the Service.

Mrs Nandap made this known in Abuja at an award night and end of the year dinner and award night organised by the NIS in collaboration with the International Centre for Migration Policy Development.

The Comptroller General, Mrs Kemi Nandap, said the award was in recognition of notable achievements by some personnel who distinguished themselves in their various fields of engagement.

She re-emphasized that the successes achieved by the Nigeria Immigration Service this year were made possible by officers who have shown astute professionalism in the conduct of their assigned duties.

The Comptroller General, who noted that the greatest asset of any organisation is its workforce, however, urged officers to continue to put in their best towards repositioning the Service to deliver more on its mandate.

She highlighted some of the achievements of the service this year to include specialised trainings for officers and a review of the Nigeria Visa policy, amongst others.

The Minister of Interior Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo eulogized the personnel for their outstanding contributions to the nation’s security .

“This is the time for us to interact, the time for us to enjoy, the time for us to network, it’s been a very busy 2024, very eventful and we have achieved a lot and the renewed hope has found a place of permanent domiciliation in the Ministry of Interior and of course the Nigeria Immigration Service, so today is not about work, today is not about target, today is about easing off stress “.

Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo affirmed his resolve to ensure that the Nigeria Immigration Service gets all the support it needed to secure the nation’s borders.
