The House of Representatives Committee on Public Asset and Special Duties has given the Nigerian Railway Corporation, NRC, a 7-day ultimatum to submit all relevant documents on current Public-Private-Partnership, PPP, projects.
The committee’s chairman, Mr. Ademorin Kuye, made the demand during a public hearing in Abuja, citing the NRC’s failure to submit the documents despite earlier requests.
The required documents include agreements related to PPP assets, concessions, and lease agreements, as well as evidence of remittances and income profiles.
The committee also requested a detailed report on a trending video showing individuals carting away assets from a train station.
The NRC’s acting Managing Director, Mr. Benjamin Iloanusi, apologized for the delay and attributed it to miscommunication.
He appealed for more time to submit the requested documents and urged the committee to share the video to aid in an internal investigation.
