The African football governing body, CAF, has announced that the date for 2025 African Cup Of Nations, AFCON, in Morocco.
According to CAF, following there earlier confusion about the timing, the next AFCON will now hold on December 2025.
Reports coming from CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt confirm the biennial tournament is now scheduled for December 2025.

The host country through its president Fouzi Lekja has announced that the competition will be played in the summer of 2025.
However, FIFA has fixed the maiden edition of the 32-team Club World Cup to take place at the same time which has sparked a lot of debates among the stakeholders in the game.
The question remains: will the timeline be adjusted once more
2025 AFCON in Morocco will have 2023 host and defending Champion Côte d’Ivoire look defended their title.
Morocco host Africa’s flagship event for the second time after 35 years after.
The first time the North African country staged the competition was in 1988.
