Kapital FM 92.9 The Station that Rocks!
The National Mathematical Centre has trained over 20 postgraduate students and researchers in a Foundation postgraduate course titled “Emerging Trends in Software Engineering Principles and Programming”.
This is aimed at enriching their comprehension of this vital field for the nation’s progress.
The Director General of the National Mathematical Centre, NMC, Prof. Promise Mebine at the end of the training in Abuja,
emphasized the transformative potential of pursuing such a course in software engineering.
He highlighted how it can broaden students’ career horizons and serve as a catalyst for technological advancement in the country.
Prof Mebine also emphasised the need for stakeholders to compliment the efforts of Government in the teaching and learning of computer science programmes.
One of the resource persons from the University of Abuja, Professor Olumide Owolabi, stressed that the training would significantly enhance participants’ problem-solving abilities.
Divided into three groups, the participants deliberated on ways to address various challenges confronting the nation.
The participants expressed gratitude for the workshop, noting that it equipped them with the necessary tools and insights to tackle real-world problems effectively.
