FCT School Sports Final: FOSLA Academy In Gold Rush On Day 1

The grand finalé of the Barrister Nyesom Wike FCT School Sports Festival 2024, is now in full swing with the over eight hundred athletes that qualified for the finals, locked in races for silverware, and podium places, at the Practice Pitches of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja; GSS Garki and GSS Tudun Wada.

Our man monitoring track and field events, Friday Joshua reports that JSS Gwako won the Gold in 4x100m relay Junior Girls, ahead of JSS Karu which finished 2nd, while JSS Jabi 2 finished the contest in 3rd position.

In the Boys category, JSS Karu and Gwako exchanged positions as Karu fought back to claim 1st position, JSS Gwako was 2nd; while JSS Pasali crossed the finishing line in 3rd.

In other events, FOSLA Academy, Karshi showed class in the 800m events, winning three out of four events, in this category.

Queen Joseph of FOSLA Academy, Karshi clinched the 800 m Gold for Junior Girls. The Gold for Junior Boys was also won by FOSLA Academy, ahead of the runner from JSS Gwako, and JSS Kwali finished in 3rd position.

FOSLA Academy, owned by a former President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi, also dusted a strong field to claim Gold in the Senior Boys race, GSSS Tunga Maje took the Silver; while GSS Gwagwalada came 3rd. But GSS Dangara ran a race to remember, and won the Senior Girls 800m Gold, ahead of ADSS Asokoro and GGSSS Kuje finished in 3rd, to take the Bronze medal.

Elsewhere, Oluchi Eze of ADSS Asokoro made light work of her other competitors to take the Senior Girls 3000 metres Gold, ahead of Okolie Charity of GSSS Tungan Maje who settled for the Bronze.

Elsewhere, VEI Kuje and GSS Tunga Maje will this morning clash in the 3rd place match, of Senior Boys football; that’s before FOSLA Academy Karshi takes on GDSS Dutse-Alhaji, in the Gold Medal match. Both games are scheduled to hold at the Old Parade Ground, Area 10, Garki.

In the 1st Semi-final played on Monday, FOSLA Academy Karshi underlined their ratings as the reigning FCT and National Champions by hammering VIE Kuje 7-1; while GSS Tunga Maje fell 2 – 3 to GDSS Dutse Alhaji, in the 2nd Semi-final.
