The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, says it is making deliberate efforts to carry the youths and women along in the affairs of the party.

A former Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Ambassador Nuhu Bajoga made this known to newsmen in Kaduna.

Ambassador Bajoga who is also a member, Board of Trustees, BOT of the party, aknowledged that youths constitute a larger percentage of the party both at the state and national levels.

“Go to every local government and call the executives of all the wards, hardly would you find anybody who is sixty years among them. When it comes to congresses, it is the youths that are in control, they call the shots and they choose who wins”.

“Almost all our councillors across the twenty three local government areas of the state are mostly youths. The youths shape the opinions and make things work”, he said.

The member Board of Trustees therefore emphasized that the People’s Democratic Party understands the importance of the Youths, not only in winning elections but in contributing to solving the myriads of problems facing the country.

He however insisted that nobody has deprived the youths of anything, because they have all the opportunities and all the chances to contribute meaningful to the growth and development of the country.

“At stakeholders meetings, you will find out that those that are hanging around, ninety nine percent of them are the youths. Right from the grassroots up to where the congresses matter, ninety nine percent of all the roles are played by the youths. They shape the thinking. They shape opinions and make things work”.

“There is a deliberate attempt to leave it for the youths, we are ready to hand over. We, the elders, we are more of playing advisory roles; so let the youths take over”, he concluded.

Ambassador Bajoga also reiterated the need for closer synergy between the Youths and elders of the party to achieve their set objectives.
