Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Abubakar Audi has ordered Zonal Commanders and Commandants in charge of the 36 State Commands and the Federal Capital Territory to redouble efforts in tightening security for a hitch-free yuletide season.
In a statement by the Corp’s Public Relations Officer, Babawale Afolabi, the CG says that in obeying the order to the latter, proper checks and accountability must be enforced as nothing short of it will be condoned.
According to the statement, the CG adds that there should be renewed vigour to maintain law and order in synergy with sister agencies.
It states that efforts must be made in the protection of critical national assets and Infrastructure.
“There should be searchlights on our oil and power installations, railways, roads and bridges as well as schools to prevent them from being vandalized or attacked by criminal elements whose plot is to sabotage the country’s effort to greatness”.
The statement says that Component Commanders in Joint Security Operations together with Commanders of Special Squads are also by this directive further mandated to prevail on their subordinates for full implementation of the order.
While surveillance is to be redoubled before and after this Yuletide, the CG also directs increased vehicular and foot patrols in all the 774 Local Government Areas across the federation to ensure the physical security of officers and men of the Corps.
