Staff and visitors to the premises of the Federal Capital Territory Administration were today forced to leave their offices by labour union leaders.

Correspondent Ekemini Ubong reports that the union leaders who locked up the main entrances in the complex said they took the action in obedience to directives to embark on a nationwide strike by the Nigerian Labour Congress NLC and Trade Union Congress,TUC.

Commenting on the strike, President of the Joint Union Action Committee, FCT/FCDA chapter, Comrade Oluwakorade Matilukuro stated that despite the fact that the memo for the industrial action came late on Monday, members of the union would ensure that the directive for action is enforced.

Comrade Matilukuro expressed concern over the recent manhandling of the NLC President Comrade Joe Ajaero by security operatives in Imo State during a rally.

Comrade Matilukuro therefore called for the solidarity of all union members towards realizing the objectives of the industrial action.
