The attention of the Councilor representing Karu/Jikwoyi ward of the FCT has been drawn to the dilapidated state of primary healthcare centers in the two communities of the Area Council.

A non-governmental organization in the FCT implementing a Global Fund Project on AIDs, Tuberculosis and Malaria in the two healthcare Centres paid an advocacy visit to the Councilor Mr. Husseini Dogo and brought to his notice the refuse dump In front of the Jikwoyi Primary Healthcare Centre which does not promote a clean environment needed to improve healthcare delivery.

Leading the team to his residence in Karu, Abuja, Mr. Samuel Simon solicited his support towards revamping the system and a legislation to make primary healthcare Centres, the first point of contact is put on the front burner.

The team also observed that the primary healthcare in Jikwoyi lacks a soak away which poses a lot of health hazards to the workers and patients.

Responding, the Councilor, Mr. Husseini Dogo who appreciated the team for their support to the primary healthcare centers said he would ensure that the next budget makes adequate provisions to caterr for primary healthcare centers.

He solicited the support of the organization and well-meaning Nigerians to assist government in ensuring adequate healthcare service delivery.
