The new Sports Development Minister, Senator John Enoh, has said the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja will be his permanent office while he remains in charge of sports in the country.
Senator John has therefore directed the permanent secretary in his Ministry to move all the department of sports at the federal secretariat back to the stadium.
The Minister made this known while speaking to the sporting press after his tour and inspection of the National Stadium facilities on Wednesday.
According to him the decision to operation from the stadium, will enable him familiarize himself the more with his immediate working environment,the athletes,coaches and other stakeholders .
“The permanent secretary and I, had some discussion to move my office to the federal secretariat, and I told him that the first office I was moved to is right in the stadium, immediately after I was inaugurated and that office i’m operating from is where i will like to have as my permanent office.
I don’t have any business going to any federal secretariat, I like to operate right from the stadium and i have already indicated and directed the permanent secretary that every other department of sports where it is located needs to be relocated back to the stadium.”
He further went on to say that the permanent secretary is working to allocate the offices that are not in the stadium back to the stadium as the ministry is a ministry that you need to be where the action is, as it will help with coordination.

The majority of the departments like the Nigerian Football Federation are already in the stadium.
Reacting on his inspection of the sporting infrastructure at the MKO Abiola national stadium,Abuja the minister had this to say;
“The Moshood Abiola National Stadium is a national monument for this country.
It is a very definitive national monument there is about nothing that you can not find anywhere else that you won’t find here, but I think that from 2003 to today, the facility has gone through a lot and has suffered a lot.”
Minister Enoh complained about the hostel accomodation for athletes and said his administration will make sure that the hostel becomes functional and comfortable for the athletes.
