The management of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) has disclosed that the 2023/24 season will kick off on 26th August.
The 2023/24 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season will be played in a full format.
The agreement was reached during a meeting between the NPFL board and club owners in Abuja yesterday night.
Recall that an abridged format was adopted for the 2022/23 season.

The draws for the 2023/24 season and the Annual General Meeting will be held on 17th August a week before the kick off date. This was revealed by the NPFL Chairman Mr. Gbenga Elegbeleye.
The chairman who rose from a meeting with Club owners in Abuja said the league which will be run full (38 matches in all), will kick of on 26th with matches spread across to 27th.
Elegbeleye said all the clubs have signified their intention to stick to the date and are prepared to commence actions.
This is regardless the initial suggestion of another abridged season that saw Enyimba emerge as the 2022/23 NPFL champions.
He explained that the League Board and Managers have been mandated to make sure the league go on as planned.
