The Federal Government has been urged to put in place the necessary modalities for Nigerian youths and women to excel in their endeavors toward enhancing national peace and development.

A cross-section of Nigerian Youths made the call in Abuja during an interactive session, titled “Unite Naija” by Radio Nigeria’s Online Radio, Click Nija.

Guest panelists from different sectors of the economy shared divergent views on the expectations of Nigerians from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Some of the participants who were mainly youths expressed concern over the challenges confronting the country.

They therefore stressed the need for the present administration to put necessary measures in place towards improving the wellbeing of Nigerian Youths most especially in job creation.

A guest speaker and the youngest candidate in the 2023 House of Representatives election, Juliet Ikhayere thought that the autonomy of local governments and the revenue generated if put into proper use will reduce the burden on the state and federal governments and the high rate of migration among youths in the country.

On his part, the Youths Country Representative in the United Nation’s Regional Working Groups on Women, Youths, Peace and Security in Africa and the Sahel, Mr Andy Iji called on the federal government to be more strategic in dealing with the country’s internal security to safeguard lives and property of all Nigerians.

In a remark, the General Manager of Kapital Fm, Mrs. Bukky Towuro advised Nigerian youths not to relent in their pursuit of greatness and shun social vices.

Other participants called on the federal government to take seriously human capacity development, especially among the teeming youths for a better Nigeria.
