The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has pleaded with President Bola Tinubu to consider the issues raised by the Resident Doctors with a view to addressing them.

He stated this in Abuja when he met with the President to proffer solutions to the incessant strike embarked on by the National Association of Resident Doctors of Nigeria, NARD.

Mr. Abbas had earlier met with the National Leadership of NARD and pleaded with them to shelve the industrial action and give the House leadership two weeks to find solutions to the issues raised.

The Speaker has however directed the ad hoc committee to be Chaired by the Majority Leader, Professor Julius Ihonvebre to meet with all the stakeholders and urgently resolve the matter.

The adhoc Commitee also has the immediate past Chairman of the 9th House Committee on Healthcare Services, Tanko Sununu as the deputy chairman, while all medical practitioners in the House were co-opted into the committee.
